Abstract

|
There have been introduced various surgical treatment methods in rotator cuff tears with or without adhesive capsulitis. It would be valuable to understand indication of each surgical treatment method in rotator cuff tears. Capsular release in adhesive capsulitis, rotator cuff repair, salvage procedure, reinforcement with synthetic graft, tendon transfer, and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty in rotator cuff tears were briefly reviewed. Understanding the condition of each patient is important in selection of surgical method in rotator cuff tear with or without adhesive capsulitis. In the treatment of rotator cuff tear, we must consider reparability of the cuff and demand of patient on the basis of knowledge in rotator cuff mechanics.
